Beef in Black Bean Sauce

Total cooking and preparation time approximately 10 minutes

Serves 2

Ingredients

1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil
12 oz steak, trimmed of fat and cut into thin strips
1 green pepper, chopped
8 oz jar blackbean sauce
2 tbsp dry sherry

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a very hot wok and stir-fry the steak for about 3 minutes until browned.
  2. Add the pepper and stir-fry for about another 2 minutes.
  3. Stir  in the blackbean sauce.
  4. Use the sherry to rinse out the sauce jar, then pour into the wok and stir a final time.
  5. Serve on a bed of plain rice, with prawn crackers.
