Ingredients
1½ lb best braising streak, diced
1 large or 2 small onions, coarsely chopped
2 tbsp vegetable oil
3 tbsp hot curry powder
2 tsp chilli powder
½ tsp ground cumin
1 tsp turmeric
½ tsp ground cloves
1 tbsp ground almonds
14 oz tin chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp dried coriander leaf
1 tsp salt
1 tsp coarse ground black pepper
¾ pint water
Method
- Preheat oven to 190oC / gas mark 5.
- Put all the ingredients into a large casserole dish and mix well.
- Place in the oven and cook uncovered for about 1 hour
until the meat is tender.
- Serve with basmati rice and naan bread.
