Ingredients
1 lb sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil
2 tbsp butter
1 small or ½ large onion, halved and sliced
1 tbsp plain flour
1 tsp tomato purée
1 tsp Dijon mustard
¼ pint soured cream
1 tbsp dried parsley
1 tsp coarse ground black pepper
Method
- Heat the oil in a in a very hot frying pan and stir-fry the beef for about
2 minutes, until browned, then set aside.
- Lower the heat to medium, add the butter and the onions and fry for about
5 minutes, until softened.
- Return the beef to the pan, then add the flour, tomato purée,
mustard, soured cream, parsley and pepper, and stir until well mixed.
- Cook for about another 2 minutes until heated through.
- Serve with thin-cut American fries.
