Total cooking and preparation time approximately 20 minutes

Serves 4

Ingredients

4 burger buns
1 lb lean minced beef
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp coarse ground black pepper
4 slices gorgonzola cheese
a few pieces of iceberg lettuce, chopped

Method

  1. Preheat the grill to the highest setting.
  2. Cut the buns in half and lightly grill the inner sides for about 1-2 minutes until lightly toasted, then set aside.
  3. Divide the minced beef into four, roll each portion into a ball and press firmly with your hands so that it is compact and won't break up.
  4. Flatten each ball into a disk about ½ inch thick, brush lightly with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Grill for about 7-8 minutes on each side until well done.
  6. Meanwhile, pleace a slice of cheese onto the underside of each bun top.
  7. When the burgers are done, arrange a layer of iceberg lettuce on top of each bun bottom half and place one grilled burger on top of each.
  8. Replace the top halves of the bun making sure that the cheese slice doesn't fall off.
  9. Serve with spicy potato wedge.
