Ingredients
1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil
1 lb lean minced beef
1 large or 2 small onions, chopped
4 tsp garlic, crushed
3 large or 4 small carrots, sliced
4 oz sliced green beans
14 oz tin chopped tomatoes
½ pint beef stock
1 tbsp plain flour
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp dried mixed herbs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp coarse ground black pepper
½ lb baby new potatoes
Method
- Heat the oil in a large saucepan on a medium heat and cook the beef,
onion, and garlic for about 10 minutes
until the onions have softened and the meat has browned.
- Add the carrots, beans, tomatoes, stock, flour, Worcestershire sauce,
herbs, salt, pepper and potatoes. Stir
well.
- Bring to the boil and simmer for about half an hour.
- Serve with crusty bread.
