Ingredients
1 lb minced beef
1 large or 2 small onions, chopped
½ pint beef stock
1 tbsp garlic granules
1 tbsp tomato purée
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp dried mint
2 x 14 oz tins macaroni cheese
Method
- Preheat the oven to 190oC / gas mark 5.
- Put the meat and onion in a frying pan over medium heat and cook for about
5 minutes, without oil, until the the meat has browned and the onion has softened.
- Mix the stock, garlic, tomato purée, cinnamon, cumin, nutmeg and mint together in
a jug, pour into the frying pan and stir until well mixed.
- Cook for about another 5 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Transfer to a shallow baking tray and top with the macaroni cheese.
- Cook in the oven for about 40 minutes.
- Serve with
lettuce, cucumber and cress salad.
