Total cooking and preparation time approximately 30 minutes, plus marinating time

Serves 2

Ingredients

1 lb rump steak
1 pint bottle French dressing
2 tsp chilli powder
8 large kebab skewers
2 green peppers
1 small or ½  large red onion

Method

  1. Cut any fat off the meat and discard, then cut the steak into cubes.
  2. Put the steak, French dressing and chilli into a bowl and mix well. Leave to marinate overnight.
  3. Preheat the grill to the highest setting.
  4. Meanwhile, soak the kebab skewers in cold water, then drain.
  5. Chop the pepper and onion into pieces approximately the same size as the beef.
  6. Place chunks of beef, onion and pepper onto the skewers alternating between each.
  7. Grill for 15 minutes under a hot grill turning halfway through cooking.
  8. Serve with American-style salad and yellow rice.
