Ingredients
2 tsp ginger, finely chopped
2 tsp garlic, crushed
4 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp dry sherry
1 tsp hot chilli sauce
1 tsp clear honey
½ tsp Chinese five-spice powder
12 oz rump steak, cut into thin stir-fry strips
4 oz mangetout
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
4 oz dried egg noodles
Method
- Put the ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sherry, chilli sauce, honey and
five-spice powder in a bowl and mix well. Add the steak, coat well and leave
to marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Cook the noodles according to the instructions on the packets.
- Add the beef and 2 tbsp marinade to a very hot wok and stir-fry for about
3 minutes until browned.
- Add the mangetout, the rest of the marinade, salt and pepper and stir-fry
for about another 2 minutes.
- Drain the noodles and serve with the beef and mangetout on top, accompanied
by prawn crackers.
