Grilled Pears with Minted Mascarpone

Serves 4

Ingredients

4 ripe Williams pears
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp clear honey
1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the minted mascarpone:
1 tbsp dried mint
1 tbsp caster sugar
8 oz mascarpone cheese

Method

  1. Preheat the grill to the highest setting.
  2. Cut the pears into quarters lengthways, remove the core and sprinkle with lemon juice.
  3. Melt the butter in a small saucepan, remove from the heat and stir in the honey.
  4. Line a baking tray with foil and lay the pears on top. Brush with the butter-honey mixture, sprinkle with cinnamon, then grill for about 5 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, mix the mint, sugar and mascarpone together in a small bowl.
  6. Serve the pears with a dollop of mascarpone.
