Total cooking and preparation time approximately 20 minutes

Serves 2

Ingredients

8 oz spaghetti
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp grated parmesan

For the meatballs:
1 small or ½ large onion, grated
1 tsp garlic, crushed
1 lb minced lamb
1 tbsp plain flour
1 tbsp dried mixed herbs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp coarse ground black pepper

For the sauce:
½ pint passata
1 tbsp dried basil

Method

  1. Put all the meatball ingredients into a bowl and kneed with your hands until well combined.
  2. Combine the sauce ingredients in a large saucepan on medium heat and bring to the boil.
  3. Add the meatballs and turn them gently in the sauce to ensure they are covered.
  4. Cover the pan and cook for about another 10 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in a large saucepan of boiling water according to the instructions on the packet until al dente.
  6. Arrange the spaghetti on the plates, top with the meatballs, sprinkle on the parmesan, and serve with ciabatta rolls.
