Total cooking and preparation time approximately 10 minutes

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 small or ½ small onion, halved and sliced
8 frankfurters
8 soft white finger rolls
4 tsp English mustard
4 tsp  tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium heat and fry the onion for about 5 minutes until softened and slightly browned.
  2. Meanwhile, cook the frankfurters according to the instructions on the packaging.
  3. Carefully cut a slit into the top of each roll to about halfway down.
  4. Place one frankfurter into each roll.
  5. Top with onions, mustard and ketchup to taste.
  6. Serve with good quality potato crisps.
