Ingredients

2 thick slices white bread
1 tbsp butter
8 oz good quality Double Gloucester, Red Leicester or Cheddar
4 spring onions
4 gem lettuce leaves
4 tbsp Branston pickle, piccalilli or your favourite pickle

Method

  1. Butter the bread and cut the cheese into wedges.
  2. Put one slice of bread, 4 oz cheese, 2 spring onions, 2 lettuce leaves and some pickle on each plate.
  3. Serve.
