Total cooking and preparation time approximately 1 hour, plus marinating time

Serves 2

Ingredients

2 lb boneless pork belly, in one piece
2 tsp five spice powder
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp sesame oil
4 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp clear honey

Method

  1. Place the pork in a shallow dish, skin side up.
  2. Mix the remaining ingredients together in a cup or small jug and spread over the pork skin.
  3. Leave to marinate overnight in the fridge.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200oC / gas mark 6.
  5. Cook the pork for 1 hour, then remove from the oven and leave to rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Slice along the grain and serve with lettuce, tomato and red onion salad.
