Total cooking and preparation time approximately 50 minutes

Serves 2

Ingredients

2 cups fusilli pasta
8 oz smoked sausage
1 small or ½ large onion, chopped
14 oz tin chopped tomatoes
½ pint water
1 tsp sugar
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp dried parsley
½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ cup grated white cheddar

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180oC / gas mark 4.
  2. Place the pasta in a baking just large enough to hold it in a single layer.
  3. Add the sausage and onion.
  4. Mix the tomatoes, water, sugar, garlic, parsley and Worcestershire sauce together in a bowl or jug then pour over the other ingredients in the baking dish.
  5. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle on the cheese.
  7. Return to the oven and cook for about another 15 minutes, until the cheese has melted and the pasta is al dente.
  8. Serve with crusty bread.
