Ingredients
2 medium eggs
1 cup plain flour
½ cup milk
½ cup water
¼ tsp salt
1 lb Cumberland sausages
1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil
Method
- Preheat oven to 220oC / gas mark 7.
- Put the eggs, flour, milk, water and salt into a mixing bowl
and whisk into a batter.
- Arrange the sausage neatly in a baking tray, place on the top shelf of the
oven and cook for about 10 minutes, until the sausages start to colour.
- Remove the baking tray from the oven and pour the batter around the
sausages.
- Return to the oven and cook for a further 20-25 minutes, until the batter has risen and the sausages have
browned.
- Serve
with leeks, carrots, mashed potatoes and onion gravy.
