Ingredients

1 tbsp butter
2 tbsp olive oil
4 large potatoes, sliced
¼ pint milk
2 tsp garlic granules
¼ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp salt
½ tsp ground white pepper

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 190oC / gas mark 5.
  2. Grease a baking tray with butter.
  3. Arrange the potatoes in the tray in layers.
  4. Stir the milk, garlic, nutmeg, salt and pepper together in a jug, and pour enough of the mixture over the potatoes to cover.
  5. Cover and cook in the oven for about 45 minutes.
  6. Uncover and cook for a further 15 minutes to brown.
  7. Serve.
